The service life of reciprocating mud pump not only relates with design and manufacture but also relates with pump’s service condition, operating and maintenance. Once the triplex mud pump is installed or stopped for a long time, the following preparations must be carried out:
1. Check whether the fuel tank is full of fuel, whether the water tank is full of coolant, and whether the pump is full of lubricating oil
2. The mud pump is connected with the main equipment by a high-pressure water supply pipe.
3. Open the valves in the pipeline system.
4. Check whether the circuit and oil circuit of the diesel engine are normal, whether the instrument is in good condition and whether the oil and water are enough.
5. Check whether the operation handles and switches are in the initial position.
6. If a mud pump package is newly assembled or has experienced long time stoppage, then below preparations must be arranged in advance before startup:
(1) Check the suction pipe and pump valve, the suction port is not blocked by foreign matter, the pump valve is opened and closed smoothly, the suction pipe is in good sealing condition, and there is no leakage. The suction end of the suction pipe should be 0.3~0.5m below the water, and 0.5m away from the bottom and side wall of the water pool or tank.
(2) Please check the Net Positive Suction Head (NPSH) should be no more than 2.5m for clean water, and the value will be decreased if the medium is thick mud. In addition, the suction pipe length should be no longer than 5 meters.
7. Please make sure that specified brands of lubrication oil or grease shall be added into the pump body, all the oil cups and grease fittings until reaching right oil level.
8. Please make sure that all the components and parts are well tightened, especially the critical connection between piston and crosshead/connection rod.
9. Please check if the pressure gauge works well, and if its scale is in ‘0’ position when there is no pressure.
10. Before starting the pump, fill hydraulic 46 wear-resistant hydraulic oil into the oil discharge port of the hydraulic motor
11. Please fully open the pump relief valves before startup so that it is in idle load condition.
The above methods are only for rig mud pump products of Elephant brand. Some models may be difference, please contact us for more details.
Drilling equipment rental business popularity has increased rapidly because of various reasons. Some of the major factors drive the development of drilling equipment leasing, including increased economic uncertainty, equipment purchases, technology updates, low capital, high failure costs, limited space available and infrastructure growth, forcing companies to look for different ways.
Here are some key differences and benefits that leasing drilling equipment can bring to a business:
1. Cost Savings:
Renting drilling equipment can provide significant cost savings compared to purchase new equipment. Buying drilling equipment involves substantial upfront costs, maintenance expenses, storage costs, and depreciation over time. Renting allows companies to access the necessary equipment without a large capital investment, saving money that can be allocated to other areas of the business.
2. Offering Businesses Flexibility and Scalability:
As drilling projects vary in size and duration, renting equipment allows businesses to scale their operations based on project requirements. They can easily increase or decrease the rental equipment as needed, reducing the risk of owning idle or underutilized equipment.
3. Access to Advanced Technology:
Rental equipment providers often offer the latest and most advanced drilling equipment models. By renting, businesses can access state-of-the-art equipment without the continuous investment. This ensures access to cutting-edge technology, improving operational efficiency and productivity.
4. Reduced Maintenance and Repair Responsibilities:
Renting drilling equipment transfers the responsibility of maintenance and repairs to the rental provider. The rental company typically handles routine maintenance, servicing, and repairs, reducing the burden on the business. This saves costs associated with maintenance staff, spare parts inventory, and equipment downtime.
5. Access to Expert Support:
Rental equipment providers often offer technical support and assistance. Companies can benefit from the professional expertise from rental providers, who can provide guidance on equipment operation, troubleshooting, and best practices. This support minimizes downtime and ensures smooth operations during drilling projects.
6. Logistics and Storage Savings:
Renting equipment eliminates the need for businesses of handling logistics, transportation, and storage of heavy drilling equipment. Rental providers typically handle these aspects, reducing logistical complexities and costs associated with equipment transportation and storage facilities.
With the companies seeing the benefit of renting, the rental market is growing at a fast pace, and it is expected to boom in the coming years. If you want to rent stable mud pumps or drilling rigs in your local market, maybe we can help you. Elephant Machinery CO.,LTD can not only provide the mud pumps and HDD products, but also offer the best service. Choose Elephant mud pump, choose reliable!
In drilling operations, reliable and efficient mud pumps are critical to maintaining fluid circulation and effective drilling performance. These pumps are robust and capable of circulating mud. Rigs and pumps provide ongoing service to contractors. There are various types of drilling mud pumps available for sale, each designed to meet specific drilling requirements. These drilling mud pumps also come in different types and let’s see about it here.
Triplex Mud Pump: Triple cylinder mud pumps are widely used in drilling operations. They are designed with three plungers or pistons to create high pressure and flow rate. Triplex pumps are known for their durability and are able to handle the harsh drilling conditions. These are ideal for drilling applications that require very high pump pressures.
Duplex Mud Pump: Duplex mud pumps consist of two pistons or plungers. While they are less common than triplex pumps, they are suitable for less demanding drilling applications. Duplex pumps offer simplicity and cost-effectiveness. Though these drilling mud pumps for sale are considered as the old technology, it can run either with electricity or diesel, which makes them the best.
Quintuplex Mud Pump: Quintuplex mud pumps, as the name suggests, feature five pistons or plungers. These are used in operations where the fluid should be pumped during drilling operations. It functions in continuous duty return piston mode. Since it is a five sheave model, it requires the support of crankshaft and the same is done by the external bearings.
Thus, drilling mud pumps for sale are of different types. You need to get in touch with the reputed manufacturer or a dealer who deals with these mud pumps. You have to check for its working and should be satisfied. Only then you have to go for the actual purchase. You must ensure that these involve only minimum maintenance but it delivers optimum function. Before deciding on the dealer or manufacturer analyze various factors, do thorough research and then finalize on the dealer. Go for the ones that suit your needs the best.
